Στάβανγκερ, για αιώνες έναν από τους ακρογωνιαίους λίθους της νορβηγικής ναυτιλίας. Από την εποχή όπου οι βασιλιάδες των Βίκινγκς έδιναν μάχες στο Χαφρσφιόρδ μέχρι τα σύγχρονα δεξαμενόπλοια, μην ξεχνώντας την εποχή των «λευκών πανιών» και των ατμόπλοιων. Μη χάσετε αυτή την ευκαιρία να επισκεφθείτε την πόλη και ανακαλύψτε τα πολλά της πρόσωπα. Το Ουλλαντχάουγκ προσφέρει τη μαγευτική του θέα στο Χαφρσφιόρδ όπου το 872 ο Βίκινγκ Βασιλιάς Χάραλντ Φέρχερ νικώντας τον τελευταίο από τους τοπικούς πρίγκηπες ένωσε τα 29 μικρά βασίλεια ιδρύοντας το Βασίλειο της Νορβηγίας. Συνεχίζοντας στα περίχωρα του Στάβανγκερ θα θαυμάσουμε το συναρπαστικό μνημείο του γλύπτη Φρίτζ Ρόεντ, το Σβερ Ι Φχελλ (Σπαθιά στο Βράχο) τα πέτρινα σπαθιά του Σβέρντ, ένα εκπληκτικό έργο. Το μνημείο απεικονίζει τρία σπαθιά ύψους δέκα μέτρων όπου μνημονεύουν την ιστορική μάχη στο Χαφρσφιόρδ. Το μεγαλύτερο σπαθί αντιπροσωπεύει το νικητή Βασιλιά Χάρολντ, ενώ τα μικρότερα συμβολίζουν τους ηττημένους Βασιλιάδες. Το μνημείο συμβολίζει την ειρήνη αφού τα σπαθιά είναι καρφωμένα μέσα στο βράχο από τον οποίο δε μπορούν να αφαιρεθούν. Θα περάσουμε μέσα από τις παλιές αλλά και τις νεότερες περιοχές του Στάβανγκερ. Θα θαυμάσουμε τον Καθεδρικό ναό (εξωτερικά), χτισμένο περίπου το 1125 από τον επίσκοπο Ρέιναλντ του Ουίντσεστερ με τη βοήθεια Βρετανών εργατών. Απ’ όλες τις εκκλησίες που χτίστηκαν στη Νορβηγία το Μεσαίωνα, ο Καθεδρικός του Στάβανγκερ είναι ο μοναδικός που διατηρεί τα αρχικά του στοιχεία. Πριν επιστρέψουμε στο πλοίο θα περπατήσουμε μέσα στην «παλιά πόλη» με τα στενά δρομάκια και τα γραφικά ξύλινα σπίτια που χρονολογούνται το 18ο και 19ο αιώνα, όπου ήταν το σπίτι των ναυτικών, εργατών και εμπόρων. Αυτή η μοναδική περιοχή, σε απόσταση μερικών λεπτών μακριά από το λιμάνι, είναι σήμερα στο επίκεντρο ενός φιλόδοξου έργου ανοικοδόμησης. |

To confirm the booking, a 45% deposit of the total amount is required, with full payment due 45 days prior to cruise departure. For bookings made within 45 days of departure, full payment is required immediately.
